mail headers to automatically detect the encoding/charset for mail clients

I am able to send mails using JavaMail with multi lingual contents in
UTF-8 format by specifying the charset in MimeMessage setText API. I
have tested with the lotus and yahoo mail clients. but in order to
display properly, i ended up changing the encoding in the mail
clients. For yahoo mail, i manually changed the Encoding to
UTF-8(context)in the browser. Is there any way, to make mail clients
automatically recognize the encoding settings. Do i need to set any
mail headers for this to recognize the charset of the mail content.
