newbie learns ASP.NET

I try to create a new web application by Microsoft Visual Studio. But it
made me wait long time with Create New Web window
Please tell me what wrong.

System configuration:
Platform: Microsoft Windows XP Pro sp2
web server: IIS 5.0
I also create a virtual directory

2. which version of Visual Studio and Asp.Net are you using?
3. Do you get any error during this?
