Hi all,
I am am a Javascript noob thinking an putting together an "idiot
proof" Online PC Builder for customers to build their own PCs to specs
they require. A website that had a PC builder that looked pretty good
was http://www.take2.co.za/pcbuilder.php. I would be looking to have a
similar setup, i.e. a certain CPU is selected and the other dropdown
lists are updated with compatible parts. Once the motherboard is
selected the RAM type and number of sticks that can be added are
dynamically updated etc.
Example: A user would select, "Pentium 4 3.06 GHz (800 MHz)" from
"Processors" and the "Motherboard" drop down list would be repopulated
with only those Socket 478 motherboards that support 800MHz FSB. The
"Memory" list would be populated with singles and pairs of ram at
PC3200 and above, and so on.
What is the best way to go about this? Can I have the webpage
referring back to an excel, or other, spreadsheet or database? Are
there any websites I can refer to for help with the coding, etc.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave
