Portable way to find a pk using Ruby-DBI

Is there a portable way to find a record's PK, after it was inserted
(assuming it was autogenerated) using Ruby-DBI?

What is the best way to handle this? If I'd like to support multiple
db's, how shouldI handle finding/generating pk's?
