pressing Tab jumps out of panel

Hi all,

I have done an applet application, in which I placed two panels,
and for one panel I have added keyListener, and when running the
application, every key has been traced other that Tab,

Pressing Tab leads to jump into the other panel(2nd Panel),

Any suggestions...
