query string in asp.net 2.0

Hi all
I would like to send parameters to my aspx page:
e.g.
www.x.com/mypage.aspx?thisparameter=thatvalue

How do I know what is that value from page_load event?

Are you talking about the Request.QueryString collection?

you can just do:

dim parameter as string = Request.QueryString("thisparameter")

However, in addition, I'd recommend making the parameter Global for the page
(dim it OUTSIDE the Page_Load event)
Dim param as string
Then, as Karl said, assign the value in Page_Load
param=Request.Querystring("thisparameter")
