SIGSEGV 11 (*) segmentation violation on AIX 5.1 and Java

When trying to access a result set using rec.next(), the machine keeps
hanging with the following error message:

$ SIGSEGV 11 (*) segmentation violation
si_signo [11]: SIGSEGV: (*) segmentation violation
si_errno [0]: Error 0
si_code [50]: SEGV_MAPERR [addr: 0x800C0048]

stackpointer=5218e3b8
Writing java dump to
/sgw/SpringerGlobal/bin/javacore28920.1059763262.txt... OK


Unfortunately, the dump file is empty, thus not leaving any trace as
to where the error might come from.

Any idea?
