Start / stop Message Listener dynamically

Hi,
suppose we have Message Driven Beans listening on queues (via
ListenerPort on Websphere).
Would it be possible for an application's user to start/stop them
dynamically from the application's interface, keeping the code within
the J2EE 1.4 spec ?
