startmenu and taskbar disappeared

I've logged on to my pc this morning and my task bar and all shortcut icons
have disappeared. I can open programs through task manager but need my start
screen back. Any help for an old technophobe please?

Not really a question for this group, but you didn't accidentally hide the
Taskbar and potentially moved to a different location? Try moving the mouse
to all the edges of the screen to see if that makes it appear. Just a quick
test... ;-)
