I was wondering if this place could help me out.

What exacly does a junior level Systems Architecture Developer normally
do?

Do you program all 8 hours a day?
Do you write tests ?
Do you come up with solutions to an issue then ask other coders to do
it?

Can anyone help me out here on what exactly is a Systems Architecture
Developer

I know thats like asking "what are the job duties of a software
engineer" but even the vague descriptions can help me out here.

I know thats like asking "what are the job duties of a software
engineer" but even the vague descriptions can help me out here.

There is no industry-wide accepted definitions of job title. Different
companies may have people doing the same thing, and having the same
responsibilities and give them different job titles. Different companies may
give people the same job title, but have them do wildly different things and
have different responsibilities.

If you really "need" a description, regardless of how vague, I'd say
that a Systems Architecture Developer probably spends most of his/her time
developing the architecture of a system.

What exacly does a junior level Systems Architecture Developer normally
do?

As I see it.

- A systems architect designs solutions (he may also take part in
developing the solution, but that is not the point)
- He will most likely be involved in tasks regarding system stability,
efficiency, quality etc. And he will be part of discussion about
system integration.
- A developer codes it.
- A junior level anything is on the learning step of the senior so he
would concentrate on the details of whatever he is doing so that he can
later understand the bigger picture and become a senior.

So combining this would get you a possible answer. Also at architecture
level the person is supposed to have to take into consideration, no just
one part of the system but how the entire systems cooperates and operates.

But there are of course other aspects as well, as oliver for example
stated, he might focus on the core architecture/coding or he might be
given a smaller part of the entire system he has some responsibility over.

The main thing I would say is that he would have to have responsibility,
partly or wholly, for something bigger than how to parse a response or
writing a simpler client using some simpler protocol.

strategy and best practices for system development involving new
technologies and tools. The staff works with application designers to
understand which architectural models best fit their needs and selects
the appropriate vendor products, considering trade-offs among
functionality, complexity, performance and cost. This area is
specifically responsible for:
* Architectural strategy for Java/J2EE development, .Net development,
Portals and Grids
* A repeatable, proven industrial strength set of application
development frameworks (ex. STA4J-Java, STA4N-.Net, Portal, Grids)
* Product support for vendor products and production support for
enterprise application services & components
* Project-level design, debug and performance

Candidate will be a member of the STA4J-Java Framework team. Candidate
will be a J2EE developer with a minimum of 3 years experience who can
work with projects on a tight timeline and in a pressured environment.
The candidate must be able to work with the developers to achieve a
successful migration; have an understanding of MVC based framework and
have the ability to work with developers on coding issues in the RAD 6
Java IDE.. Candidate must have a good working knowledge of Java
capabilities and features.
Responsibilities include coding assignments, documentation and
assisting application areas with the adaption of new releases.
Responsibilities also include the creation of training material,
mentoring and marketing of the framework.

Good communication skills and ability to work well within fast paced,
team environment.

Experience Required:

As I read it then it is not a programming job but it is a job for
a programmer.

As I read the person they seek will be responsible for selecting
the tools and frameworks to use.
