Tomcat 4

I am working with Tomcat 4.
I have servlet, configered in start up, I load some hashes and will put
them Attributes and when load this in page it works. ( when i have
default tomcat dirs i.e in webapps/examples/....)

But when i use seperate dirs as (webapps/test), I have added an entry
in server.xml and wrote a seperate web.xml), it shows
NullPointerException in the line "context.getAttribute("test") "

Can any one help me on this.
