Tomcat 4 to 6

I have all my webapps in Tomcat 4.1.27. All of them were compiled
using JDK 1.4.

Now I need to move the Tomcat 4.1.27 webapps to Tomcat 6.0.16.

Do I need to recompile all my Java class files using JDK 1.6 before I
put them on Tomcat 6.0.16?
