unable to mkvirtualenv

when creating a virtualenv with mkvirtualenv, I receive an error:

I've updated the relating packages (virtualenv, virtualenvwrapper,
distutils, distribute, pip) and couldn't solve my problem via google.

solution was commenting the following line:

# export PYTHONDONTWRITEBYTECODE=1

in .bashrc.
