Face it, Chaddy, this thread doesn't have any "best" parts. What tickles
me, though, are the spam accusations. In the general sense, the whole
thread is spam.

What astounds me is that, assuming he really does run a business, Jerry
is a tad clueless as to what constitutes sensible Internet behavior for
a businessperson. I mean, geez, the possibility that a customer might
find such public rantings should be enough to not do it. I mean, they
might write to the ICCA:

http://www.icca.org/member/memberpage.asp?id=400

The first thing I do when hiring a contractor is Google them. If I
found this

http://www.google.com/search?query=JDS Computer Training Corp&num=50

after Jerry made a sales call I sure wouldn't be doing business with him
or his company.

amazing.

No problem. You're not the type of customer I'm looking for, anyway. I
have a good client base already - all Fortune 500 companies. And they
keep my busier than I really want. But they also pay very well.

Yea, amazing to think that I would even be interested with you as a client.

It gets even worse when you check his delinquency records at
Maryland's Taxpayer Services Division
http://sdatcert3.resiusa.org/ucc-charter/

where his ficticious scamming Corporation belongs, as the retarded

JDS Computer Training Corp.

And he still has the nerve to try to teach lessons about business

I did directly address it, numb nuts. Go ahead and write to them.
You'll get laughed at like others who have tried. Like Raphael, for
instance. We all got a great laugh out of his email.

So, you are a member of ICCA?

And you never responded to me comments about your Web presence and how
it might negatively affect your business. Would you care to do that.

Seriously. I'm just tryintg to understand you from a rational
standpoint. Any help you can give would be most appreciated.

So, let me attempt to understand you.

I made a couple of rational posts to you and your responses are simply
to trash me? Ok. That is an interesting marketing strategy.

Ok. What business are you in? Why should I hire you? Please point me
to some Web resource where I can find out more about you and your
company. Seriously. You claim credibility, please show me how I can be
comfortable that your are credible as a businessperson. I might just
have some money to spend with your company.

Of course. It's no secret.
And you never responded to me comments about your Web presence and how

It has absolutely no effect on my business. My customers know me and
the quality of work we provide. They couldn't care less what a couple
of trolls say about me on usenet. In fact, a couple of them ask me
regularly if I've run into any more trolls. They get good laughs when I
tell them about the trolls.
Seriously. I'm just tryintg to understand you from a rational

Sorry, I thought you were trying something else. I didn't realize it
was a serious question.

My customers don't make judgments based on what they see here. They
make judgments based on my company's performance in meeting their needs.

And when they do look, they look at ALL of the threads. And they see
what's going on. They're not stupid - unlike the trolls here. They see
what goes on.

So it's no big thing. If anything, it's helped my business because I've
been able to laugh with some of my customers about the trolls. It's
given us other, non-business things to talk about. And you'd be
surprised how much we agree on things.

Sorry, I didn't realize you were serious with your posts. They sounded
a lot like some of the trolls here, and I guess I just reacted to that.

You won't find much about my company because we aren't looking for new
customers.

We do custom courses. Courseware development runs typically $5K to $10K
per day of class. Course presentation typically runs around $500-$750
per student day, depending on the course.

As a result, our customers are only the largest companies - typically
Fortune 500, who have 100+ programmers needing similar training (less
than that and it's not real cost effective). The courses cost
significantly more than stock courses. But in return my customers the
best training, customized to fit their needs. And they're willing to
pay for that.

The downside is it keeps me very busy - more than I want. I'm really
trying to cut down on the amount of work we're doing. But it's not easy.

Please let it rest, thanks.

I never believed in maintaining a kill file. However, recently it seems to
only way to enjoy Usenet (not limited to this group though, there's a lot
of gg noise). But at the current rate my kf is growing I have to buy
additional storage :-(.

The point has been made, etc.
