ValueError from dict - some detail would be helpful

--- it would be nice if it said what field it was

I know that I can do a set difference on the two myself, but since it
know what wasn't there.. why not report it and save me some time?

Yeap, nice and useful... but, for example, what'd happen if the fields
that are not in fieldnames are 10, or 100? How the message could be?

The code inside _dict_to_list currently just stops at the first unknown key.
Just report that - much better than nothing.
