What exactly is an "Implementation of Python" ?

Not sure what the term means "implementation of Python".
So what exactly does it mean *"implementation of Python"* like
cpython, Jython, IronPython ?????

In terms of IronPython --- does it mean a Python programmer can
write .Net app in Python ?
