I'm just curious, what exactly is an EM measurement unit? Some people are
saying it's best to give an EM measurment instead of pixels. Thanks for any
help.

It's a unit relative to the letter "m" in he chosen font face. The size of
an em varies depending on the font used.

Like %, em is relative sizing. Better than px. Have a look:
