where does tomcat takes it's home directory??

hi.
i'm trying to use tomcat with cocoon..

but when using cocoon i get:
Can't create store repository: /usr/local/tomcat/repository.

but the in the cocoon.properties i see ./repository, so surly it's must
be in the enviorment defined, right?

so where does it get it?
