Will we use DetailView in real application?

I am a newbie in ASP.net. I have found out that it has a details view
control which allows us to group a set of controls for data editing. In
general, will we use this control? Or it is still better to create the
control indvidiually and handled by the coding?

If you want to use it, it's there, that's why MS made it available. The choice is yours.

"Better" is a relative question that depends on what you're trying to accomplish.
