About maxconnection on asp.net 2.0, is it ignored?

..Net Framework 1.0 and 1.1 only allows 2 simultaneous outbound
connections to the same server using HTTP by default.

<connectionManagement>
<add address="*" maxconnection="2"/>
</connectionManagement>

What happend on asp.net 2.0? Is it ignored by default? Is it only allow
2 simultaneous outbound connections by default?
