How play mpeg in ASPX page?

Discussion in 'ASP .Net' started by VB Programmer, Nov 18, 2004.

  1. How do you play an mpeg in an ASPX page? Do you need to add a reference of
    some sort?

    I added this in the html:
    <object ID="MediaPlayer" WIDTH="320" HEIGHT="285"
    CLASSID="clsid:22D6F312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95"
    CODEBASE="http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=5,1,52,701"
    STANDBY="Loading Microsoft® Windows® Media Player components..."
    TYPE="application/x-oleobject" border="0" hspace="0" VIEWASTEXT>
    <param name="AutoStart" value="1">
    <param name="AnimationAtStart" value="0">
    <param name="BufferingTime" value="5">
    <param name="ClickToPlay" value="1">
    <param name="EnableTracker" value="1">
    <param name="Filename"
    value="/assets/work/eds/cats_te_mpl_mpg.mpg">
    <param name="PlayCount" value="1">
    <param name="ShowControls" value="1">
    <param name="ShowAudioControls" value="1">
    <param name="ShowDisplay" value="0">
    <param name="ShowGotoBar" value="0">
    <param name="ShowPositionControls" value="1">
    <param name="ShowStatusBar" value="1">
    <param name="ShowTracker" value="1">
    <embed TYPE="video/x-ms-asf-plugin"
    PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/Downloads/Contents/Products/MediaPlayer/"
    SRC="SOURCEFILE" NAME="MediaPlayer" WIDTH="320" HEIGHT="285" AutoStart="1"
    ShowStatusBar="1" ShowTracker="1" ShowControls="1" ShowAudioControls="1"
    ShowPositionControls="1" PlayCount="1" EnableTracker="1" ClickToPlay="1">
    </embed>
    </object>

    But it keeps changing it to this:
    <OBJECT id="MediaPlayer"
    codeBase="http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=5,1,52,701"
    type="application/x-oleobject" height="285" hspace="0"
    standby="Loading Microsoft® Windows® Media Player components..." width="320"
    border="0" classid="clsid:22D6F312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95" VIEWASTEXT>
    <embed TYPE="video/x-ms-asf-plugin"
    PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/Downloads/Contents/Products/MediaPlayer/"
    SRC="SOURCEFILE" NAME="MediaPlayer" WIDTH="320" HEIGHT="285"
    AutoStart="1" ShowStatusBar="1"
    ShowTracker="1" ShowControls="1" ShowAudioControls="1"
    ShowPositionControls="1" PlayCount="1"
    EnableTracker="1" ClickToPlay="1"> </embed>
    </OBJECT>

    Notice that "Filename" is MISSING. Any ideas?

  2. What about setting the src attribute?

  3. I think it was a bug in my IDE. I pasted the correct section again and
    saved it and it worked. Hmmm..
    Thanks.
