Motorola T720i misbehaving

Has anyone had any luck with MIDP using HTTP on the Motorola T720i? We
can't get a midp app to initiate an http connection, we always get an
IO exception 'Call setup failed'.

The app is fine on other Nokia, Siemens and Sony Ericsson Java phones.

I think its just not set up right even though I specify a WEB rather
than WAP APN, but there does not seem to be any place in the settings
to set the connection for Java apps to use.

Any ideas welcomed, before I go completely mad.
