Operation Timed Out

We have about 40 users using a win forms application that connects to a web
service over their internet connection. After they have been working for
quite a bit of time, they are getting "Operation Timed Out" errors. If they
close the app, and then immediately re-open the app and retry what they were
doing, it works.

Any suggestions?
