A better place to ask this is either comp.lang.java.databases or
comp.databases.ibm-db2, especially the latter. There is not necessarily a
lot of DB2/Cloudscape expertise on comp.lang.java.programmer ;-)
I remember seeing a discussion on the DB2 newsgroup a few months ago about
making JDBC drivers available as separate downloads rather than imbedding
them in the huge DB2 downloads. If I recall correctly, IBM resolved to make
JDBC drivers available as separate downloads starting more or less right
away. I don't recall where they put them though and it might not be easy to
find them by hunting around at
http://ibm.com. That's why a post to one of
the other two newsgroups might give you a better/faster answer.
I haven't actually used Cloudscape myself so I don't know the answer to your
question.
