JOB DESCRIPTION:
Assist in defining and implementing ASP .NET and C# .NET healthcare
and hospitality software applications based on customer requirements.
These requirements include internationalization for deployment in Asia
and Europe. Applications run on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with XP/
Vista clients and communicate to NEC Unified Solutions PBX product
line to complete call processing tasks. Engineer is responsible for
total software life cycle, from writing functional and design
specifications, to implementation, unit testing, code reviews,
installations, reviewing end user documentation, and assisting with
deployment and third tier support. Must keep pace with emerging and
rapidly changing telecommunications industry application software
trends.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Engineers complete application solutions, designs and develops
application interfaces, integrates solutions, helps to define
requirements, implements solution design, and supports application
software as third level support.
§ Analyzes escalated problems, develops and implements solutions.
§ Debugs, creates and executes unit test scripts and reports the
results.
§ Analyzes services level exceptions and identifies trends,
determines root cause, and resolves.
§ Adheres to quality standards and established look and feel.
§ Codes and configures diverse and complex programs from technical
specifications.
§ Writes the installation for the application.
§ Documents specifications, including functionality, use cases,
and data flows.
§ Adheres to all IT guiding principles, processes, policies,
standards and procedures.
§ Demonstrates integrity without compromise, respect, commitment
to excellence, collaboration, agility, and values diversity - every
day with every team member.
§ Uses on-line resources to stay current in applicable
technologies.
§ Conducts design and code reviews, mentoring to non-senior
developers.
§ Contributes creative ideas for taking current products into new
directions to keep pace with technology and market trends.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS REQUIRED:
§ 8+ years experience with design and development of Windows based
applications using Microsoft development tools.
§ 8+ years experience with object-oriented programming languages,
preferably C++/C# .NET.
§ 4+ years experience ASP .NET/ASP 2.0 .NET.
§ 4+ years experience with MS SQL Server including the ability to
write and debug stored procedures and triggers.
§ 5+ years experience with modeling methods and tools (such as
UML, Rational Rose) is desired but not mandatory.
§ 5+ years experience with source management tools (such as
SourceSafe).
§ 2+ years experience with testing methods & tools (such as
CompuWare DevPartner Studio or NUnit) is desired but not mandatory.
§ 8+ years experience implementing and integrating business
applications software.
§ Hospitality/Property Management Systems, health care/HL-7, and
telephony experience is a plus.
§ 1+ years experience writing internationalized applications
desired but not required.
§ Strong analytical problem solving skills.
§ Strong communication and writing skills.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
8+ years of experience.
Bachelors of Science in Computer Science undergraduate degree.
