ASP.NET developer guidelines when deploying to a server with Sharepoint

Hi,

Are there any specific developer guidelines, publications etc. for
developers when writing a stand alone ASP.NET application (no
interaction with SPS) but it needs to be capable of being deployed on a
server that also has Sharepoint installed.

I have seen numerous posts of people with problems deploying a regular
ASP.NET application on a sharepoint server but can't find any specific
developer materials.
