Alex Comfort's "The joy of sex" is not too big *and* inspiring for a
certain sense of the word.

Please keep your great inspirations out of c.l.c, at least the unrelated
ones ...

Thanks

I know many people who like to make fun of others while can not stand
same happen to themselves. Unfortunately I am one of them . :(

Now in case you are not one of those guys, here is a book I like to
recommend to you. To be fair I have not read it. Just judging from the
name :

Common Nonsense (Hardcover)
by Andy Rooney

Hi :),

I learned C from K+R but I found it a bit too brief in lots of places.
What I did was I just picked up a random book from a used bookstore to
compliment K+R, "Ansi C made easy" by Herbert Shult. I found it really
clear and easy to read, so Id recommend that if you can find it (I think
its out of print).

Cheers,
Joe

You probably mean Herbert Schildt. If so, I hope you've been able to
unlearn whatever you learned from that book.

For scathing reviews of some of his books:

If you mean Herbert Schildt his books are generally referred to as
"bull schildt", and consider eminently satisfactory for heating (by
burning).

He can write clearly, but what he writes is generally in error.

None, unless if you only have one edition of K&R,
then I would also recommend the other one.

There are two copyright dates: 1978, 1988.

These are 21 and 31 years old. The language has moved a long way since
then. There are many more up to date books

The 1989 C standard is still in wide use and is the most portable
version of the C standard. The 1988 version of K&R covers c89.

The older version of K&R covers what is referred to as "K&R C" this
is mostly od historical use (though I did patch a K&R C program
recently...).

Hi,

Maybe you could write a review on these, how have these inspired you?
Maybe I can become interested in these too ...

:)
Thanks.

Thanks guys. Now I suppose some reviews are waiting to be read. And dont
worry, I have already heard about the "C author" who does not bother to
publish an errata.

No point,. You have to read them yourself. Both are Zen type books.
