call a parent javascript function inside from an iframe

Hi
I have an html page in which i used an iframe. In the src of iFrame with the URLi have passed some parameters like user id and password. Now what i have to do is, on the basis of user id and password passed i have to call a parent javascript function and send an argument also true or false depends upon the user name and password.

Thoughts with examples will be helpful for me
