Can't detect initial thread stack location - ??

Running Java on a Linux system (Red Hat 9), I get this error:
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM warning: Can't detect initial thread stack
location - find_vma failed

I suspect a library file is missing or incorrect, but I can't figure
out what...

Anyone got any ideas about this?

This is my version info:
java version "1.5.0_05"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_05-b05)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_05-b05, mixed mode, sharing)

I've never seen this error myself, but it seems fairly common. A quick
