When using the API function CertGetContextPropery() to get the property
CERT_ISSUER_PUBLIC_KEY_MD5_HASH_PROP_ID from a certificate in Microsoft
Certificate store, the function fails and returns the error code
CRYPT_E_NOT_FOUND for a newly imported certificate. Whereas if the
certificate is viewed using IE "view certificate" option, the above function
retrieves the property value successfully.
And also repeatedly calling the CertGetContextProperty() returns the same
error code CRYPT_E_NOT_FOUND, until the certificate is opened by IE.
So the question is: Why does the API function fails the first time? Is there
any kind of initialization done by IE ?
Regards,
Chris
