Are there free jsp tags for database query, insert, update? I am
writing a web site with database at backend.

The Java Standard Tag Library (JSTL) has a taglib for database transactions.

So what is wrong with JSTL (the JSP Standard Tag Library)?
Just get them from the Jakarta Taglibs project and install the jars in your
WEB-INF/lib directory.
The Database access library has the URI: http://java.sun.com/jstl/sql and
the Prefix is sql. (this is for the JSTL1.0)
