DataGrid - linkbutton to take to detail page

I need a linkbutton in a DB that when clicked will take the user to a new
page that shows the details for that particular item in a DataList.

Does anyone have an example of how this typically might be done? I have
seven books on .NET and NONE of them show this. Is it something that can, in
fact, be done?
