I didn't say that, I just pointed out that the Republican advocacy is
full of crap. Furthermore, the Republican party is full of crap,
although I probably shouldn't say that because it might offend some
people's "family values".

Similar in ways, yes. The same: no. Their sugar daddies are
diametrically opposed and I so happen to ally myself more with the peon
than with the elitest.

The problem is NOT democrat or republican. It is the career politician
on either side. (in any country)

If you said that in a rabid newsgroup like alt.windows-xp you might start
a fight, but this one is pretty laid back...

I believe that is true to a high percentage, but there are still some
fundamentals of the Rep. party that are really quite un-American in
scope. You might compare them to the tenets of a hypothetical and non-
racial ku klux klan.

Quite a few of the people in alt.windows-xp are completely insane.
Alt.politics is another one...

Both parties are terrible, but the Republicans are especially bad.
Definitely un-American in many aspects.

You know what I want? I want the truth. There is no way that both a
liberal and a conservative can take the same exact item and spin it
so it means what ever they want it to. The truth lie's somewhere in
the middle.

How so? Why are they any worse? And are you American? (it makes a
difference in where you get your information)

I really want to know why you think the republicans are un-american.
I promise I will not start an argument no matter what you say. I
consider myself very conservative and a republican (for lack of
anything better in my view) and I really want to know what you think
I believe.

Yeah, I go along with that statement. Part of the problem is that a
large portion of the populace is still impressed (-and swayed) by
contrived showmanship. Russ Limbaugh is a jerk but moderately
entertaining. There's a talk-show host here named Bruce Jacobs who's
also a Republican advocate and he's very entertaining; even I listen to
him sometimes, but his basic song-and-dance is the same invalid crap you
can hear anywhere.

I don't find Rush Limbaugh entertaining at all. He is a hypocrite, drug
addict, and when confronted with facts that proved a lot of his BS as
lies, he said something like, "my show is entertainment, it doesn't have
to be factual". The thing is, it is not just entertainment. It is
politics.

It makes me laugh to see Republicans described as "un-American". The
political antics of members of either party are what defines
"American". Like it or not, to the rest of the world we are what our
political leaders present us to be. That's true no matter which
political party is involved.

Another thing that makes me laugh is when someone says "This country
was founded on...." Why doesn't anyone ever say "This country was
founded on the principle of getting away to a new place so we could do
things the way we wanted to do them and become the screwers instead of
the screwees."?

I prefer to avoid politics on newsgroups because the conversations get
out of hand too often. I suggest reading something like
commondreams.org. Subscribe to their newsletter and you can get headlines
from many different news sources in your inbox. Not everything there is good, but
you can see some alternative viewpoints by reading it. Also read the
writings of the founding fathers and compare them to what the Republican
party is doing.

The last line of the above paragraph could have been written during
the administration of the first Republican president: Abraham
Lincoln. It was as valid then as it is now.

The Democrats starting going off-track from the aims of the founding
fathers in the presidency of Andrew Jackson.

owning a couple dozen negroes. Now, were did I put my wig powder...."

I listen to "Don and Mike", although I don't agree with their politics
;-)

I don't understand why the Republicans have taken over the radio while
the Democrats are in control of the boob-tube, the movies and the 'New
York Times'."Everything we feel fit to print". Spare me a FOX rant.
