Dropping a control on a webform and AJAX Update panel resize question

In error, I asked this question in the dotnet.languages.vb group, but this
group would be more appropriate.

I have just started working with AJAX, and in watching some of the video
tutorials at the Microsoft site, I noted that the presenter could simply
drop controls on the aspx page and they stuck where he put them (I think he
was using the free Visual Web Developer 2005 Express). I recall that this
is they way things worked for me in VS 2003. However, ever since moving to
VS 2005, I can not configure it to work that way. When I now drop a control
on a web form, it does not stick where I intended it to go but rather places
itself at the upper left-hand corner. How can this behavior be changed in
VS 2005?

Secondly, is it possible to resize an AJAX UpdatePanel?
