My version (1.1.3) has a "persist features" as a top item under the
options menu. When I turn that on and then select "Outline Current
Element", it stays on when I move from page to page.

Thanks Nikita, this will do fine, close enough.

As it happened, my web devs just auto updated to latest. It was
nearly what I wanted (for the feature to come on only when I
choose Edit CSS or HTML).

If you are interested in the quickest and most complete info about a
current element, install the Firebug add-on. You click on the element and
get tabs of info about it, even a visual diagram showing how it is placed
in the page.

Thanks mb. Actually I do have this ad on. But I often want light
weaponry. (Have a lot of enemies and I have to move fast). That
outline and the html "breadcrumb" display is really very often
what helps me pinpoint trouble.
