Help with my new web site?

Hi all

I was just wondering if some of you might have a look at my new mobile
phone comparison site and give me some critical feedback? Basically
anything you would change or improve and other features you might want
on there let me know. Also I do not have access to a mac with IE on so
if someone could see if it breaks in that that would be great!

The site is http://www.MobileChecker.com and compares over 20,000
mobile deals every day across 30 online stores.

Cheers in advance!

Nothing to do with the html, but there is no indication that it's a
site aimed at the UK market until "£" shows up at the bottom of the
page. There's not even a word with an extraneous "u" in it. You
might want to add something prominent that indicates your market.

Yes it breaks on IE 5.1.6 (pretty well the last
IE for Macs, used on OS 9). It is massively wide and needs a
heavy and quite serious use of horizontal scroll bar. I'd make
you a screen shot but what is needed is really a movie! It
separates pics and text etc etc

Want to know more, what?

(BTW, looks real nice in my Mozilla 1.3.1)

Cheers for the feedback dorayme and Tony.

Tony - I wil add a few "UK's" to the page content as I have only got UK
in the page title and £ signs everywhere at the moment.

Dorayme- I will try and look into why it's broken so spectacularly! I
imagine I need to add some hacks to the css in order for the strange
beast that is IE Mac to work.

Do many Mac users use the standard IE or have most got common sense to
use Firefox? ;-)

Also does it work fine in Safari?

Thanks again

You probably should not be too worried "for" mac IE users as
most of us on dying IE/Mac/OS9_orless (only very naive X users
would use it as they have available lots of fabulous choices)
very well know by now to use other browsers for anything that
does not work well in it...

But a shiver runs down my spine when you talk about adding
hacks... I like it (though I hardly use IE these days... see
note) when anything I make displays nicely on it. If it displays
well on it as well as all else without complicated trickery,
then this, to me at least, is more satisfying. I think for this
reason: if I do manage ever to do tricky things that work, I
feel like someone who has just, by the skin of their teeth,
pulled off something that is hard to repeat in different
circumstances, or one has to do juggling tricks all over again,
the tricks being probably not greatly transportable...

I will have to go and start up my fancy G4 to test your site in
Safari, I am sure it will be ok... I seem unable to leave this
7300 workhorse.

Note: It is different and better than the equivalent PC version,
(S.Pugh once pointed out that it was made by a team that half
knew what they were doing)

Thanks all

It's a crazy world we live in and I knew of some hacks that allow Mac
IE to handle floats but I aint got the time to delve into this at the
moment so I have bookmarked that link tm.
