Hi all,

I got the error message "Arg list too long" when linking a lot of object

Does anyone know how to resolve this problem ?

Thanks for help,

That must be a characteristic of your implementation, whatever it is
(no, I don't want to know.) It's not a question about the C language.

Ask on a newsgroup devoted to your platform.

Yup: link fewer files.

I know that the problem is not about C but I posted the question in case
that some C users have already met similiar problem.

Thanks for your reponse.

If you'd posted it to an archery news group, I could have
answered it there...

It doesn't matter. Some C users are expert at training bird dogs, but
that does not make the training of bird dogs a suitable subject for
this newsgroup.

Its an easy mistake to make. But while many C users may have
encountered this problem, many C users have also encountered problems
using DB2 or Win32 APIs, or unix shell script, or DCL, or cooling
problems in double overhead cam 4 cylinder engines with twin stromberg
carbs and an alloy head on a cast block. None of these are topical
here and so while we could answer them, to remain focussed on C we
don't.

Also please don't top post in CLC - its considered inappropraite here.

On computer controlled engines, with the code written in C, this could
possibly (though not likely) be a C problem.

How many carbureted, as opposed to fuel-injected engines are you aware
of that have computer control? Especially, if you narrow that down to
those with strombergs?

Kids, don't make me come over there.

It was probably the power required to tow a 3090 around behind you
that was the incentive to add the twin carbs and OHC...

Well, there's always the DeathStationWagon 9000...

there might be a few that have a carb with a computer-controlled
ignition system. my first car (a citi golf) had a carb,
and points-less ignition system.

does that qualify ?

AFAIR strombergs stopped being fitted to engines around about the
first time that it was realised that miniskirts were a good thing, the
beatles were still together, and free love was still free.
