How to widen a picture without keeping the scale of it

Hi all,
i find that when i widen a image,the height of the image become
larger too.
How can i make the image wider without keeping the scale, which
means the height keep unchanged.

Well, it depends on how you do that.

You need to do it another way. Such as
<img alt="" src="decoration.gif" width="100%" height="42">

Of course, if you do that, the results will be between poor and
miserable. So try using your favorite graphics program.
