Issue with WebHost4Life (complaint)

I would like to post a great big complaint about WebHost4Life.

I actually like their reliability, but their help people seem to have
poor communication skiills. They would hugely improve their service,
if someone would write a basic documentation page about how to set
security levels when creating a website.

I have gone round and round with their help people using their online
chat window, trying to get an idea what standard settings should be
used on directories to accomplish different levels of security versus
user accessability. I have even emailed them several times offering to

write that document if they will provide me with the information, but
they have not responded to my emails.

As an example. I have a "DOCS" subdirectory which contains some
Microsoft Word Documents. Inf the following example, I changed my
name, server numbers, and OWS numbers, but otherwise, here is how my
permissions are set.

NETWORK SERVICE -- R

(1) I have no idea which of the items listed would affect whether I can

log in from my copy of FrontPage on a remote client computer to
maintain my web site. This would be a nice thing for them to document.

(2) I do not know which item would set permission for the average
internet user, or what i should set my seurity to, so they can download

or view the Microsoft Word FIles I have posted.

(3) Actually it would be nice to know the funtion of each of the items
listed below.

(4) It looks to me like WebHost duplicates a bunch of security settings

in the control panel display.

From what I have read, I can't see anything you have complained about
that is actually the responsibility of your host. Have you tried looking
at the documentation for the control panel they use and for Frontpage to
see if they show how to do the things you want to do?

You sound like one of those "the code was difficult to write, so it
should be difficult to read" types of people. How about a little
communication?

You communicated the same thing 4 (four) times in a row.

Well, I guess that makes us even. I didn't find a single intelligent
comment in any of your posts.

Hmm, accusing other people of being stupid when they don't feel like
answering some lazy * who has shown abolutely no effort to try to find an
answer himself... Were we talking about communication skills? Learn some.

Rik's notion of communication skills -> "do you want fries with that"

Well, you've go me there, your post DOES sound intelligent. I'm in awe of
both your social skills, and your massive intellect. I will never again
assume to be able to answer one of your questions, which are indeed of the
same magnitude as "Why are we here?" and "Is there anything after death?".
I can only speculate what great master plan is behind the fact that you
quote a signature, it's abviously way beyond me. Rest assure I will not
bother such a fine example of the human race again.

Yes, I think that confirms it, Rick was being sarcastic after all.
Thank goodness for that.

Ric,

I looked at your site... I guess it's true you get what you pay for in this
world.

Yeah I know, I am not that good at graphic design, but their might be a
good reason for that.
Besides, what do you think is so bad about my site anyway?
I know their is a bit of an issue with the text wrapping oddly on the
web design page, but I am planning on fixxing that with the next site
update.
