Javascript interpreters

I'm looking for an embedded Javascript interpreter. Are there any opinions
on the list on which one is best? I'm looking at NJS
http://www.njs-javascript.org/ right now. Rhino looks interesting but its
license is too restrictive (says our attorney).

You're in the wrong newsgroup. Javascript has nothing to do with Java,
despite the similarity in names. Try comp.lang.javascript.

Eh? Let's not be too hasty here. Rhino is a library written in Java,
which interprets JavaScript. Presumably the OP is looking for something
similar. Discussing it should be perfectly on-topic here; probably more
on-topic that this subject would be in comp.lang.javascript.

Hey, OP.

What license are you refering to? Isn't Rhino under some flavor of MPL?

I'm not the OP, but Rhino is actually still covered by the NPL 1.1.
This may or may not have an effect on why the OP's lawyer rejected the
license. The important fact is simply that the OP's lawyer rejected the
license.

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any other good JavaScript interpreters.

Oops, sorry, I've never heard of a Javascript interpreter named Rhino before
and didn't realize it was written in Java. I thought the OP was just another
of the many people who have posted here thinking this was a javascript
newsgroup.

My mistake!
