Hi,
I want to write a JSP/MYSQL application I developed for showcase on
CDROM.I am thinking of installing TOMCAT/MYSQL on the CDROM so that I
can have a standalone app. Will this be advisable? Are there other ways
of doing this?
Thank you.

Hi,

I don't think you can install TOMCAT/MYSQL on a CDROM.
A CDROM just contains data, and if you want to run Tomcat or MYSQL you need
scratchdirectories, open ports, etcetc and such.

You can of course burn the installers on the CDROM, but you'll still have to
install them on another computer.

I would not advise this! Why? Because you can have a hell of a time
installing Java/Tomcat/MySQL on fresh machine. Not good as a 'showcase'.

I would advise you to make the showcase yourself by saving loads of HTML, or
maybe screenshots. Use them as a walkthrough while visiting your customer.

If you want a livedemo: Be sure to host your software somewhere on the net
where you can browse to when visiting a customer. That is the best
showcase: working software. :)

Regards and good luck,
Erwin
