Long Build Times

I'm fairly new to VS2005, and have moved over a VS2003 web to VS2005. My web
is relatively small in size (maybe 50 pages?). It's taking me over two
minutes to build my website (ctl-shft-b)

is this normal?

Yes this is, unfortunately, quite common with VS2005 web sites. Try
switching to a web application project (http://webproject.scottgu.com/)

I don't have Web Application as an option when I create my project. I have
VS2005 Arch. installed. Is there something I need to do?

I switched over to a web application and things are better...but something
still isn't right.

Now when I build my web app, it builds in about 15 seconds and the "Build
Successful" message displays in the bottom left corner...cool - I'm fine with
that.

Then it returns control to me for about 10 seconds, after those ten seconds
- VS locks up (i.e. doesn't respond) for about 30-45 seconds. Then it's
fine, but everytime I build I get this.

Any thoughts?
