Hello,
I have the following problem :
Being given a rectangular space (for example a [very big] array cell,
or even the whole document), which includes a complex set of
pictures (or other objects) floating left and right, and between them
there is a rather large block of text flowing.
Could someone tell me how I could measure the height of this block of text
(which could be eventually dynamically inserted), I mean how could I
get the number of pixels between the top of the first character
and the bottom of the last character of the text ?
Or alternatively how could I know if the bottom of my block of text has
(or not) exceeded the vertical position of a given floating object
among the ones present in the same space ?
I would like actually to try to adjust as exactly as possible the height of
my text
to the height of the available space, by changing the size of the font
and/or
the spacing between lines, and by trying several writings of the same text
with these changes, for getting the best result by
successive approximations.
Thank you in advance,
Gingko.
