You need to give some more information, there are a million things that
could be wrong here.

Reading "how to ask smart questions" will help you along way to
formulate a question that can be answered:

You might give Hecl a whirl (www.hecl.org) - I use it on my Nokia 3100
just fine. It makes it easier to create apps because you don't even
need the SDK to write new apps.

Defined "didn't work" in this context? Did it give an error message on
installation? Did it fail to launch or give an error then?

Hello Darryl
To be frnk i'd been to Sun Tech Days organized in India on 7th to 9th i saw
how they created the tools using Netbeans Mobility Pck 5.0. "Didn't work"
means it showed up a cross mark on the installed greyed up application Icon
in the phone. I just cannot open it while the app works fine with the
Emulator

So the application installed on the handset, but the handset is showing a
crossed out icon for the app? What's the handset you're using? Is the
MIDlet suite MIDP2 or MIDP1?

There is probably a discussion forum for midlet development specifically
for nokia (most likely hosted by a nokia developer site). Its probably
better for you to ask your question there instead, as they might have
better knowledge of how to interpret the error message you are getting.
Another alternative is to use a nokia/midlet tool which allows you to
perform some form of run-time debugging on the phone to get a print out
of the stack trace.
