Open Source Oracle.

I want to distribute an Oracle Client in an application of mine. Can I
distribute the oracle jdbc driver, classes12.jar as long as put the
license somewhere in there? Or is there an open source oracle driver I
should be using?

Why don't you ask the question on otn.oracle.com, or simply phone them?

Their JDBC driver license agreement allows for redistribution of the driver
with third party products. However, as another responder suggested, you
should do your own homework, read the license agreement, and if in doubt,
contact them.

I believe the oracle thin jdbc driver doesn't require a full Oracle client,
but all the boxes I use it on has an Oracle client already installed.

Yea, normally, all you need is classes12.zip(jar). I still haven't
looked at the licensing. I am pretty sure you can distribute, but I
rarely see it any applications I have used.

(No I haven't called either), I must have erased Oracle from my
speed-dial.
