passing data from a popup, with a twist

Hi. I've got a popup window I can use to send data back to the main
page via the opener object. Thing is, I'd like to leave the popup
open and have it service the main page even if the main page changes.
I have several report pages and I'd like to have the person navigate
to the report page, click the customer in the popup (it's a search),
and have the results update in the report page, if you see what I
mean. I find if I do the popup and change the page then I get an
'access denied' error, even if I've just re-navigated to the same page
that spawned the popup in the first place. Any ideas?
