physical font specified but true type font file not available

I am specifying a physical font (new Font("TimesRoman", ...)), but the
physical font
file TimesRoman.ttf is not available on my platform (Solaris 8). What
font(file) does
the Java Runtime select or access?

It might be null or it might be some other font.

Font.toString might give you a good clue. Please report back what you
discover.
