problem rendering sontrol in vs.net

I added a GridView to a form and placed this on a panel then changed the
positioning to absolute. This is necessary for the application. However, the
IDE vs2005 can not render the conrtol. It runs ok, but can't be viewed in the
ide
1. i'm using a master page
2. the GV is in a table on the panel
3. it is placed on top of another GridView that is set to relative
positioning.

Anyone else have this problem? And what did you do to work around it?
