Server Name

What's the NNTP server name for this newsgroup?

Usenet groups doesn't belong to one NNTP-server. They are shared by the
network of servers, and messages posted to one server is propagated to
all the other servers ... eventually.

I would redirect you to a group for people new to usenet, but I don't
know of one in the international hierarchy.

Legion.

If you connect as a customer of an ISP, you should consult them for the
identity of the news server that they provide, support, or recommend.
In that case you should also be able to use the ISP's E-mail services,
in addition to Hotmail. Likewise for other methods of connection.

Also, you can subscribe to one of the free news servers, such as via
http://news.individual.net/

You probably realise that Web-based news servers, though more widely
available, do not provide as good an experience as a good NNTP news-
reader (on your own machine), in conjunction with a good news server,
can.

Read news.announce.newusers (moderated).
Try news.newusers.questions. If it currently works acceptably, it might
be worth citing in the FAQ.

It is news.newusers.questions (moderated).
