Using onMouseOver in <OPTION> tag

This works fine in Netscape 7.1, but not at all in IE. I'm using it
to pop up a tool tip. Any workarounds for Internet Explorer?

None really, at least none to have an event fired. And even if you had
an event you could position a tooltip on top of the <select> element as
that is a windowed control in IE/Win which sits on top of other elements.
